Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus

I just adore this new podcast from Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The comedian interviews successful, brilliant, hilarious older women about work, life and everything in between. It’s incredibly fun and frankly it makes me look forward to getting old.

Our Body Politic

A show about the intersection of women of color and policy. Host Farai Chideya introduces us to people who are shaping this democracy in important ways we may not be aware of. I love shows that teach me something and I am always learning something listening to Farai. The January 6th series was particularly powerful. I recommend you start there if you never listened to this podcast.

Justice Above All

This podcast from LDF is so smart and full of terrific information. Basically every journalist wanted to go to law school and this show satisfies that itch for me. They unpack big heady things in a way that’s actually fun. I feel like I’m listening to lawyers at a dinner party.

Strict Scrutiny

This is another legal show I enjoy. Kate, Leah and Marissa are brilliant lawyers and great podcasters. They’re my go to for all things SCOTUS.

Club Shay Shay

I love mess! Who knew Shay Shay would be such a terrific interviewer? Every episode is chaotic in the most fun way.

The Weeds

Policy matters. We need to care about this stuff and Jonquilyn is good at getting people to listen and understand it. She’s getting us to eat our broccoli by putting cheese on it.

The Assignment with Audie Cornish

Every episode is a master clinic in interviewing people. Audie is one of the best of us. She’s so good at connecting the listeners to the big stories through intimate conversations.

Native Land Pod

Angela and Tiffany are friends of mine so I always knew they were brilliant political minds. I love the deep and thoughtful way they connect politics with Black American lived experiences in this new show they host with Andrew.

Jemele Hill is Unbothered

Jemele always has interesting guests and she’s going to show you something new about someone you thought you already knew. Every episode reminds me just how thorough a journalist she is. She’s always so well prepared for these conversations.

Naked with Cari Champion

What I love about this show is that Cari is very tapped into her own voice. It’s very authentic and she’s giving her guests the space to show their authentic self to the listeners.

Brown Ambition

I love the idea of two young Black women talking about money in a way that is not intimidating. This show features two friends navigating what can a scary topic together. They’re really setting an example for all of us. Find your girlfriend and have some convos about money. Where would we be if we did that?
