Tracy Clayton is a writer, humorist, and podcaster born and raised in the West End of Louisville, Kentucky. She is the co-host of the award-winning podcast Another Round with Heben and Tracy and both she and the show have been featured in many publications including The Guardian, The New York Times, Nylon, CRWN, Marie Claire, and Louisville’s own LEO Weekly of which she is especially proud.
She also hosts the Netflix podcast Strong Black Legends. In 2016, she was named Wake Forest University’s Ida B. Wells Media Expert-In-Residence for the Anna Julia Cooper Center, and in February 2020 she was featured in Beyoncé’s online black history month tribute. Tracy loves bourbon, true crime, and animals and hates most seafood, all beer, and still can’t believe that Beyoncé knows she exists.

The Read
Self explanatory! The Read is how I learned that there were even black people in podcasting. Iconic!

Bodega Boys
Also iconic, and not just because they’re friends of mine! They’re goofy, real, and outrageous. Always good for a laugh.

You Must Remember This
I didn’t think I’d be into stories about Old Hollywood because I figured it’d only be about white people and whiteness, but this show does one of the best jobs of inclusivity I’ve heard on a show. The Manson and Song of the South series are must-listens!

Redhanded
My favorite ever true crime podcast, partly because one of the hosts is brown, partly because their voices are so soothing, and mostly because their cases are so well researched and reported.

Scam Goddess
I looooove a good scam story and Scam Goddess has them in droves! So fun, funny, entertaining, and wild with a super lovable host!

Nancy
Being a fly on the wall has never been so fun and informative. I dare you not to fall in love with Kathy and Tobin. I dare you!

Criminal
The first true crime podcast I ever listened to. And immediately fell in love with. The episodes are short, the stories are intriguing, and Phoebe’s voice sounds like what being nuzzled by a bunch of really soft puppies feels like

Jade + X.D.
I fell in love with XD on Twitter and then found the podcast and then found Jade and now I have somewhere to go when I need a boost of blackness.

Where Should We Begin? With Esther Perel
One of the most intimate podcast experiences ever! I love being a fly on the wall on what all kinds of couples are working through.

Home Cooking With Samin Nosrat and Hrishikesh Hirway
If you’re like me, you need a guide to cooking while we’re all stuck at home right now. And this is such a delightful way to get tips from people who know what they’re talking about!
