A week later, 13:28 is a number. You know you saved it for a reason. Finding out what that reason was means listening to it again.
That’s the last thing a bookmark should ask of you.

Tap Add Bookmark and the sheet arrives already filled in. A title, written for you. The passage from the transcript, captured around the moment you tapped. One tap on Save and you’re back in the episode.
The title is the part you’ll actually live with. It’s what you’ll read in your bookmark list months from now, so it’s written from what was said, not from where you were.
The transcript behind it leans backward on purpose. By the time your thumb finds the button, the sentence you wanted has already gone past. So we go back and get it.
If the capture isn’t quite right, tap Edit. The transcript opens around your selection and you extend or trim until the bookmark says exactly what you meant. Same interaction when you come back to edit it later, so you learn it once.
You can start from the other end too. Open the transcript, highlight the line, save it.
Auto-titles and auto-captured passages need a Pocket Casts generated transcript, available for Plus and Patron. On iOS today, with Web and Android to follow. Everywhere else, bookmarks work the way they always have.
